Frank J. Devilbiss House: 136 Church Street

Frank J. Devilbiss House

Built about 1886, from a Shoppell pattern, this was the home of noted historian, Frank J. Devilbiss. He married Virginia Bixler in January 1886 and they promptly took off for a honeymoon, enjoying a long tour of Florida, after which they began to build their home, on the lot he purchased from Louis Dielman. Howard Senseney was the builder, who was also the builder of El Hannon on the outskirts of town, built for Hiram Englar.
